Zhang Yimou Won Silver Bear for "The Road Home" (2000-02-21)

Berline - China's Zhang Yimou won a Silver Bear at 50th Berlin Film Festival for directing ''The Road Home,'' a poetic fable about the process of change in China. Zhang paid tribute to Gong Li, who has featured in many of his movies, and also praised the city of Berlin, where he was previously honored for his film ``Red Sorghum'' 12 years ago. ``Berlin is a city I will always hold dear in my memory,'' Zhang told the awards ceremony.
